Welcome to the Worlds of Webb

Location:
Museum Atrium & Planetarium

Images taken by the James Webb Space Telescope captivated the world when they were released last month.  Now get the inside story on how they came to be and what we can learn from them, led by experts who assisted with the mission.  UNM professors Dr. Diana Dragomir, who is on the team of astronomers interpreting Webb’s images, and Tony Hull, who supervised the polishing of Webb’s mirrors, will describe how the space observatory functions and what we have discovered from the information it’s collected so far.

During a special presentation in the planetarium at 1 p.m., Prof. Hull will share insights into Webb’s mission that you won’t be able to find anywhere else!  Other events happening from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. include VR experiences, table activities, and videos.  Visit Webb’s website here: https://webb.nasa.gov

The event is included with museum admission, making this an extra-special day to visit!  Prof. Hull’s presentation will take place in the planetarium with a limited number of seats available on a first-come, first-served basis. The other activities will take place in the museum’s atrium.
