Make teaching ecology easier and more fun with ready-to-use, hands-on, multi-disciplinary activities and our full curriculum of activities. Level: Teachers of 3rd-7th grade Cost: FREE

Project Wild/Aquatic Wild Worshop- February 16, 9-4:00

Project WILD is a K-12 interdisciplinary ecology, conservation and environmental education program emphasizing wildlife. You will be provided with a curriculum guide full of fun, hands-on activities for your classroom. Level: K-12 Teachers & Environmental Educators

First Saturday Series-Leave No Trace Education Session- March 1, 9-3:00

Spend the day in the mountains hiking our trails, visiting two hands-on exhibit rooms and observing birds and animals from our wildlife observation deck. March will offer an hour-long LEAVE NO TRACE education session from 10:00-11:00am.

SMNHC Wild Sandias! Teacher Workshop- March 8, 9:30-3:00

Hike with us and learn about the natural history and ecology of the area. Take home hands-on activities and fascinating facts about local plants and animals with which to engage your students. Level: All teachers and pre-teachers (also open to non-teachers) Cost: Free

First Saturday Series-Mammals Education Session- April 5, 9-3:00

Spend the day in the mountains hiking our trails, visiting two hands-on exhibit rooms and observing birds and animals from our wildlife observation deck. April will offer an hour-long MAMMAL education session from 10:00-11:00am.

First Saturday Series-Birds- May 3, 9-3:00

Spend the day in the mountains hiking our trails, visiting two hands-on exhibit rooms and observing birds and animals from our wildlife observation deck. May will offer an hour-long education session on BIRDS from 10:00-11:00am.

First Saturday Series-GPS/Geocaching- June 7, 9-3:00

Spend the day in the mountains hiking our trails, visiting two hands-on exhibit rooms and observing birds and animals from our wildlife observation deck. June will offer an hour-long GPS/GEOCACHING education session from 10:00-11:00am.

First Saturday Series-Plant Identification- July 5, 9-3:00

Spend the day in the mountains hiking our trails, visiting two hands-on exhibit rooms and observing birds and animals from our wildlife observation deck. July will offer an hour-long PLANT IDENTIFICATION education session from 10:00-11:00am.
