On the Origin of Feces
August 26, 2013 – Albuquerque, NM - Some refer to it as poop or feces – but in the scientific world it’s often referred to as scat and a popular area of study for paleontologists is fossilized dinosaur poop known as coprolites.
But why do we study such things? Come to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science and find out why the study of feces is so important! “On the Origin of Feces” - Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 12pm-4pm.
Learn about the science of poop! On this day only, museum experts will be on hand with specimens of coprolites, bear, turkey, fox, deer, rabbit and coyote scat, fish guts, and more!
Meet world famous coprolite researcher and scientist, Dr. Adrian Hunt –a scientist who has devoted much of his career to the study of fossilized dinosaur poop!
