Entrance Dinos

Visitors to the Museum are welcomed by two very well-known, life-size New Mexico dinosaurs that were cast in bronze by Albuquerque sculptor Dave Thomas.

"Spike" the Pentaceratops, which is shown to the left in the photograph below, and "Alberta" the Albertosaurus have been part of the Museum's collection for more than a decade. The Pentaceratops has been found only in New Mexico. Its name means "Five-horned lizard." The Albertosaurus first was discovered in Alberta, Canada. It has since been found in New Mexico.
