Juno Arrives at Jupiter

Location:
ViewSpace Theater

Thursday, June 30; Monday, July 4 & Tuesday, July 5 | 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

After gliding through space for almost five years, the next mission to study the solar system's biggest planet will settle into orbit on the 4th of July.  NASA has announced two pre-arrival media briefings on June 30 at 11 a.m. and July 4 at 10 a.m. MDT.  Both of these programs will be shown in the ViewSpace Theater with Jupiter-related activities and videos featured in the atrium.  On June 30, museum planetary geologist Dr. Larry Crumpler will be available to answer questions about Jupiter or any other planet.

The spacecraft will enter Jupiter's orbit on the late evening of Independence Day when the museum is closed and most of us will be out shooting fireworks, but you can monitor the mission from its website:  http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/juno/main/index.htm

A post-arrival event will be offered on July 5.  NASA Solar System Ambassador Leonard Duda will be standing by to help interpret information about Juno's mission at Jupiter.
