Geology and Clay

Sandia Mountain Natural History Center 60 Columbine Lane, Cedar Crest NM, 87008

Take a hike in the Sandia’s and learn about its geology. Create slab construction with clay, paint with mineral oxides, and learn about the geological formation of clay. A short guided hike will occur before creating art. Conveniently scheduled before fall break for students in APS and Rio Rancho and aligned with the Balloon Fiesta schedule.

Cirrelda Snider is a lifelong clay artist and teacher, working at the NM Museum of Natural History & Science.
