Oral Effects of Methamphetamine Use: The “Meth Mouth” Syndrome

Drs. Wagner and Tatlock are nationally recognized experts in the research and treatment of patients with “meth” mouth; and were some of the first to alert their profession to the deteriorating physical changes that occur with long-term use. Dr. Wagner’s dental images have been published in medical and dental textbooks and used by the New York Times, ABC News, The Discovery Channel and Newsweek. This presentation and discussion will include some graphic images of dental disease.

Dr. Wagner grew up in Albuquerque and is currently in his 40th year of private practice here. His DDS is from the Univ. of Southern California and prosthodontic training from MD Anderson Hospital, Houston TX. Dr. Tatlock is a Professor Emeritus, UNM Department of Dental Medicine, School of Medicine. He earned his DDS degree from Baylor/Texas A&M and MPH (Masters in Public Health) from UNM.
