Junior Docent

Junior Docent

A summer volunteer program for middle and high school students. Students learn public presentation skills and science content while they work as educational assistants in the Museum's exhibit halls. Experienced Junior Docents also can work with Museum staff and curators to learn about scientific research. Since this program began in 1991, the number of participants per year has increased from 24 to 52; and more than 250 young people have gone through the program representing 25 schools in the area.
