Museum Makes USA Today Top Ten
August 15, 2013 – Albuquerque, NM- It was a quiet Sunday morning on August 11, 2013 when the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science received exciting news! We had just been named one of the Top Ten Places to see Dinosaurs by USA Today.
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science was mentioned alongside big name institutions such as the Smithsonian, the American Museum of Natural History and Chicago’s Field Museum. This announcement was exactly what the museum needed to hear - after decades of hard work and dedication to the citizens of New Mexico, it was quite the honor to have achieved such status. The Museum just ended their Fiscal Year 2013 with a total of 284,731 visitors- the highest attendance the Museum has had in over 12 years. The museum attributes the boost in attendance to many new programs and exhibits introduced during FY13 such as those pertaining to those famous dinosaurs: Robot Dinosaurs and Dinosaur Century, as well as Science on a Sphere, Adult Nights, Evening Lecture Series and Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition.
The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science preserves and interprets the distinctive natural and scientific heritage of our state through extraordinary collections, research, exhibits and programs designed to ignite a passion for lifelong learning.
