Aerobees were a family of suborbital sounding rockets flown by the United States from 1974 to 1985. Ten different types of Aerobee rockets explored the upper atmosphere for cosmic radiation and other phenomena. Aerobee engines launched more than 1000 rockets, many of them from White Sands Missile Range.
