New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science

Pachycephalosaurus were a group of Cretaceous dinosaurs who had thick domes of bone on top of their head. Some paleontologists believe they used these domes in head-butting contests over mates or territory, like goats and rams do today. This skull is one of a handful of pachycephalosaur fossils found in New Mexico.
